Sunday May 6, 2012, 9:00 AM

Join with members of our community in a day of inspirational g’milut chasadim (acts of loving kindness) as we build community through service to others.

Big Sunday 2012
Together with over 50,000 Angelenos, we will make a difference in the life of our city. Learn about and ensure that those in need have support, shelter and sustenance as a direct result of our mitzvot. After all, it’s not necessarily what we do, it’s that we do something.

How can you help us for Big Sunday?
Join us at either campus on Sunday, May 6! We will be working on a wide-range of valuable projects. We will need your help, and there will be things for hands of all ages and sizes! For example, as a community, we will be making:

  • Blankets for homeless teenagers
  • Lunches for needy families
  • Special supply kits for US Marines in Afghanistan
  • Stuffed animals for children involved in domestic violence situations
  • Toiletry kits for people at PATH and LA Family Housing
  • Scarves for Jews in the military
  • Dog toys for dogs at Humane Societies and much, more more

You can also help by bringing needed items for the projects or organizations we will be supporting on Big Sunday. So, please bring your family, friends and the following items on Sunday, May 6:

  • Newspaper coupons and coupon circulars
  • Toiletries
  • Toys (new or gently used)
  • Baby essentials (such as new or very gently used cribs, strollers, infants tubs, baby monitors, carriers, and baby or maternity clothes)
  • Crayons (new or used)
  • Legos and Duplos (pieces, sets, parts of sets – all are good!)
  • Books (childrens and adult) and comics
  • Athletic shoes (no metal please)
  • E-Waste (no batteries or light bulbs please)

(If you won’t be able to join us at Big Sunday, please drop off any of these items early. They can be left with the Religious School office at either campus.)
