Teach Your Children Well

The Talmud teaches us that our children are the safekeepers of our Torah. Because they are our future, it is our responsibility to teach them our history and our values.

Beginning on Purim (March 19) and continuing through Chanukah (December 21-28), the Religious School will reach out to all our families past and present to raise the funds to acquire “The Illustrated Torah,” a brightly colored, hand-drawn scroll by Israeli artist Michal Meron. A lively and graphic rendering of the complete Torah, the scroll features the 54 weekly portions in the five books of the Torah.

The Illustrated Torah brings to life ancient stories, helps our children imagine what the lives of our ancestors were like and explains the traditions and values of our Jewish heritage.

Sponsor the Parsha of a bar or bat mitzvah in your family—or a story of a Biblical character with the name of your grandchild. Gifts can be made to underwrite a book, portion, story, verse, picture, word or letter in this inspiring and beautiful handmade scroll.

All supporters of the Illustrated Torah project will receive a parchment certificate of participation and will be listed on permanent recognition plaques near the Illustrated Torah cases at both the Temple and Irmas Campuses.
