TRADITION, TRADITION, TRADITION...

•    The Seder is the time to remember family traditions from the past. Using special family dishes, bringing other meaningful objects to your Seder table will help you create a memorable holiday. These items should represent something special to your family. Take time during the evening to explain where they came from and why they're important to you. Ideas include: an old wine glass for Elijah’s cup, a decorated fabric for a matzah cover, children’s artwork to hang on the walls, an old dish or a special centerpiece.

•    What other languages did your family speak? Perhaps try to sing or say a part of the Seder in that language.

•    The Seder is also the time to create new family traditions.  Sing something different; add a new custom, read a new poem!

•    Some families place a Cup of Miriam on the Table and fill it with clear water. Others include an orange on the Seder plate.

•    Include a Matzo of Hope at the Seder, in remembrance of oppressed people throughout the world.
