Wilshire Boulevard Temple on
Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin Square
Known as The Temple, our Byzantine revival architectural masterpiece was completed in 1929 and is on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States. Located at the corner of Wilshire and Hobart Boulevards, this landmark was the third Temple of Congregation B’nai B’rith. Now home to the Erika J. Glazer Early Childhood Center and Brawerman Elementary School East, explore this spiritual and community centerpiece.

Our three-and-a-half acre campus features state-of-the-art educational, recreational and program facilities for all ages, including adult education, the arts, physical education and social support opportunities. Additionally, there's the 300-seat multipurpose Marcia Israel Chapel/Auditorium and other community facilities, including a gymnasium, social hall, arts center and sports field.
Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps
Set in the spectacular canyons and cliffs of Malibu, our camps are a community service to Jewish families from a wide area of California and the West.
Camp Hess Kramer and Gindling Hilltop Camp offer two unique and differing camp experiences, with sessions for kids from Grad 3 to Grade 9, and special sessions for entering Grade 10 students focused on leadership skills. The Camps are used for various other Temple functions and are available for rental use by other select organizations.
Camp Hess Kramer, on 120 acres nestled in a tree-lined canyon a mile long ending at the beach on the Pacific, offers extensive facilities from spacious halls, athletic fields, arts center, pool, modern cabins and challenging ropes course and climbing wall. The exceptional setting allows us to offer unique elective activities, including surfing and scuba diving. In service since 1952, over 200 campers participate in each session. The huge landmark menorah overlooking the beach is a powerful, calming counter to the bustling activities and excitement of Camp.
Gindling Hilltop Camp straddles a commanding ridge high above the Pacific, with spectacular views from mountain to the Pacific horizon. A more intimate facility for up to 120 campers, the awesome beauty of the setting provides a constant reminder of our place on Earth. The open-air Brotherhood Chapel, 750 feet above the beach, offers a compelling and inspirational spiritual presence for every camper. With its compactness, the Camp fosters intimacy and community.
"Judaism is the thread which ties us all together"—so wrote a camper about Camp. Under the care of a talented, caring and experienced staff, and the ongoing attention of our rabbis, campers bond to community, family and synagogue—all through the experience of making new friends and having a terrific time. Whatever the age and needs of your child, you'll find a Camp and a session that's right for you. Send for our brochure and learn more.
