This year, students created more than 600 care packages for our Karsh Family Social Service Center clients, enjoyed an incredible Jason Mesches Purim spiel, ate lots of hamantaschen, and participated in some raucous Purim fun!
It’s now a Springtime tradition: the annual Santa Monica Pier Fun- Raiser. Open to the entire Wilshire Boulevard Temple community, it is a magical evening presented by the Brawerman Elementary School and Wilshire Boulevard Temple Erika J. Glazer and Mann Family Early Childhood Center parent volunteers. On Thursday, May 16, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., The Pacific Park area on the Santa Monica Pier is open exclusively for our families and friends.
Last month we held our very first Open House at our new location, Cal State University Channel Islands, where our camp directors and counselors showed our visitors all the reasons why we love our new space. Close-up views of the dorm-style cabins and intimate indoor spaces were complemented by scenic walks through the campus’s natural settings and outdoor-activity areas.
Through the exploration of our Audrey Irmas Pavilion, learning about the organ in our historic Sanctuary, and assisting with packing snack bags at the Karsh Family Social Service Center, the Early Childhood Centers are once again focusing on the value of Kehillah (community), which provides great opportunities to explore our broader Wilshire Boulevard Temple Community-its spaces, programs, and most importantly, the people, who make everything possible.
