Tikkun Olam Project
Each B’nei Mitzvah candidate must undertake a Tikkun Olam project on their own. Students should complete this requirement by volunteering 10 hours with an organization of their choice. Typically, this requirement is completed by volunteering at the Karsh Center or students can volunteer at an organization of their choosing.
For more information about Karsh volunteer opportunities, please contact Navah Green, Associate Director of Volunteer Engagement, at navah@karshcenter.org.
Enrollment, Membership & Financial Standing
All students must be enrolled in one of our Wilshire Boulevard Temple Schools. Families must be Temple members in good standing prior to requesting a B’nei Mitzvah date. All membership fees and tuition fees must be current prior to the B’nei Mitzvah Orientation.
B’nei Mitzvah dates are subject to cancellation due to non-payment or non-enrollment. All changes are subject to availability.
Please note, your submission is complete only after you have set up a payment plan, request financial assistance, or pay in full towards the $3,000 B’nei Mitzvah fee.
Service Location
Wilshire Boulevard Temple clergy will only officiate B’nei Mitzvah services on our Glazer Campus, or Resnick Family Campus, or on Wilshire Boulevard Temple B’nei Mitzvah Israel trips.
Scheduling Policies
Wilshire Boulevard Temple reserves the right to double a B’nei Mitzvah date at all of our campuses. Both families will be notified if this happens. Families may request a change in the confirmed B’nei Mitzvah date prior to the B’nei Mitzvah Orientation. Changes are subject to availability.
Students celebrate becoming a Bar, Bat, or B’nei Mitzvah at the age of thirteen. In some circumstances, services may be scheduled up to three months prior to or after their 13th birthday. If your child is having their B’nei Mitzvah in Israel, it may be scheduled up to six months prior to or after their 13th birthday.
