ZIMRAH is an immersive Shabbat experience in Jewish cultures from around the world. Explore the beauty and diversity of the heritage that is OUR inheritance through music, story, and food.
The melodies that you will hear at Zimrah will be familiar to you but will be layered with indigenous beats and instruments from cultures outside the U.S. From Ethiopia to Syria, to Argentina, we will celebrate Klal Yisrael in our many different cultures in the diaspora.
On Friday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m., we invite you to University Campus to join Rabbi Eshel and Cantor Shapiro as they welcome Shabbat with special musical guests, Kibrom Birhane (krar, synth), Ava Nahas (percussion), and Nadav Peled (guitar). Rabbi Eshel will share a story from Ethiopian Jewish culture.
*There will also be an option to bring home a vegetarian Ethiopian Shabbat meal. Please note that after November 1, we can not issue any refunds.
