Hurricane Relief

Dear Congregants,

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma caused catastrophic devastation forcing hundreds of thousands from their homes, many of them poor families with infants and children.  In Texas and Florida, the need for diapers is critical.  Wilshire Boulevard Temple and the Karsh Family Social Service Center have embraced diaper donation as our way to contribute to the relief efforts in Texas and Florida.

Why diapers? There are more than 11 million children in the U.S. between 0-3 years of age and 47% of them live in low-income families who struggle to provide basic diapers for their child. In Texas and Florida, the need for diapers is only growing.

As we enter this High Holy Day season, consider donating diapers to either the Houston Diaper Bank or the Miami Diaper Bank, making the lives of so many families affected by the hurricanes a little easier.  Both of these Diaper Banks have conveniently set up their Wish Lists on Amazon. You can click on the buttons below.

If you would prefer to make a financial donation, please consider the Temple's Disaster Response Fund or NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster. As the New Year approaches, let us all appreciate our many blessings by reaching out to those who are suffering.
