Adult B'nei Mitzvah

Did you miss the pleasure, privilege, and honor of being called to the Torah at the age of 13? Perhaps it’s finally time to give yourself this unique and unforgettable gift of Jewish knowledge.

The Adult B'nei Mitzvah class is a six-month program taught by Rabbi Susan Nanus that culminates in a Shabbat morning ceremony over Shavuot. The two-hour class is split into two parts: the first hour will be devoted to Judaica—learning about the holidays, the Jewish life cycle, and the core tenets of Judaism; in the second hour, participants will learn to read Hebrew and chant from the Torah.

Classes will be held 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. every Wednesday for 6 months until April, beginning Oct. 30, 2024. Classes will meet at the Resnick Family Campus. This is open to Temple members only and cost will be announced soon.
