Michael Salonius - Koleinu Shabbat on November 4, 2022

In preparation for Veteran's Day, please join us for an important conversation with Rabbi Michael Salonius, and his trauma therapy work with those veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country and for our freedoms:

Michael Salonius has spent the last 25 years treating traumatized folks. Most of his work has been focused on veterans and the moral wounds of violence. Utilizing mythopoetic storytelling, Salonius facilitates initiations into the native resilience humans have relied upon for millennia to transform posttraumatic stress into posttraumatic growth. His work has been featured on a special CNN documentary entitled, “The War Comes Home,” produced by Soledad O’Brien & has received many awards from Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), multiple police departments, & The FBI’s Hostage Negotiation Association. He has served as senior rabbi to Vitas Hospice, written curricula for many Veteran Service Organizations treating veteran suicide & remains a per diem chaplain for Red Bull High Performance Athletic Teams.

Michael Salonius is an ordained rabbi (spiritual leader) in the Jewish traditions of his mother & recognized noaidi (witchdoctor) in the indigenous Sámi traditions of his father. Presently, he lives alone writing poetry & homesteading with his dog on his family ranch in the Pacific NorthWest.
